It is State law for a driver to stop and yield the right of way to a pedestrian at a crosswalk (Texas Transportation Code Sec. 552.003). However, it is important to make eye contact with the driver to ensure they acknowledge your presence. Ensure the vehicle comes to a complete stop before entering the crosswalk.
